Kris Bailey presiding in District Court in 2004
As a trial court judge, Kris Bailey has advanced judicial training and presided over thousands of cases from 2000-2004. Attorneys describe Judge Kris Bailey as 'tough but fair', one who is willing to listen and show respect to all in the courtroom. Kris Bailey served as General Counsel to the taxpayers’ watchdog, State Auditor Leslie Merritt.
“Kris Bailey is key in exposing fraud in NC. Kris has a tireless work ethic, a calm positive demeanor and an excellent record as a judge. His strong ethical stand is consistent with his character.”
- State Auditor Leslie Merritt.
Judges should show a measure of humility and refrain from personal whims in decisions. Judges must listen carefully and apply the law without favoritism.
Judges deal with real life situations, with real people. Kris Bailey has the experience, integrity, and common sense needed to serve Wake County well.

Movie that inspires me and why...
Band of Brothers - Why? My father and hero, T.R. Bailey, is a veteran of WWII United States Marine Corps, Pacific Theatre. I am honored to have 7 uncles who fought in WWII from North Africa to Italy to Belgium, France, and Germany. They truly are the “greatest generation” and the movie Band of Brothers inspires all of us from their sacrifice.
